EASY IN PERSON REGISTRATION

Registering for League 42 is easy. We set aside 3-4 Saturdays in late
September/early October for families to register players at the Rudd
Learning Center, 1212 E. 17th. This year’s dates are Sept. 26, Oct. 3, and
Oct. 10, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.

The cost for registration is $30 per child or family of siblings. Our
players must be between the ages of 5 and 14 as of May 1 of the particular
year.

Our age groups are as follows: Lancer (5-6 T-Ball, 11 games per season);
Bruin (7-8, Coach Pitch, 13 games); Monarch (9-10, 17 games); Dodger
(11-12, 17 games); Veteran (13-14, 20 games).

Our playing season runs from Jackie Robinson Day on April 15 through late
June. We set aside three playoff dates at the end of the season for teams
in our three Kid Pitch divisions.

Why do we do in-person registration? That question comes up some and the
answer is easy. It’s because we want to personalize League 42 as much as
possible. It’s the relationships that matter and it’s best for us to get to
know you, and vice versa. In-person registration is one way to do that.

We fill our league quickly and then utilize a waiting list. It can take
some time for our teams to shake out. We work hard to build teams and to
have them in coaches hands by no later than mid-December. We do have indoor
practices for our teams beginning in January. Our Kid Pitch teams practice
once per week for one hour inside the Rudd Center, and that lasts for seven
weeks. Our Lancer and Bruin division teams practice one per week for two
weeks, also for one hour.

Our outdoor practices – once on a weekday, one on a Saturday – commence in
mid-March and we practice for five weeks before our season begins. The
weekday practices are at 6 p.m. at various sites across the city, including
our home of McAdams Park. Our Saturday practices can be morning or
afternoon and are also held at several sites across Wichita.
