When our children first showed interest in baseball, we were excited—but also worried. Friends and family had warned us about the financial strain of competitive youth baseball: expensive out-of-town tournaments, top-of-the-line gear, and uniform fees that cost more than an entire season of school clothes.
It broke our hearts to think that, as a working-class family, our kids might miss out on the incredible benefits of being part of a baseball team.
Then we discovered League 42—and I almost cried with relief. For a small uniform fee, our child could play local games, and even equipment was available if needed. Five years later, I can honestly say the greatest gift League 42 has given us isn’t just affordable baseball—it’s community.
We’ve become part of something truly special and historic: a group of Wichitans who value giving every child the chance to experience America’s pastime, grow in the sport, and celebrate their achievements.

My youngest son started playing in League 42 in the Bruin division (coach pitch) a few years ago, and I reluctantly agreed to help out as an assistant coach. He is now about to start playing in the Dodger division and I'm starting my fourth year as an assistant coach, having loved every minute of my coaching experience
Because of League 42, my son has developed a passion for all things baseball, and I have had the most wonderful time seeing him and his teammates develop over the last few years.
